How do you recycle old children's clothes?

They grow up too fast... our children! We accompany them at every stage of their lives, marking them with adorable outfits that we have to change very quickly. Too quickly.

In fact, between our coup de coeur purchases and gifts from family or friends,
we have a slight tendency to pile up piles of clothes that, in the end, we'll use very little of!

So at Tilli, we've been looking for solutions, alternatives and tips, and we're revealing all our finds below.

Continue the virtuous circle and donate your children's clothes

Obviously, before you do anything else, take stock of your surroundings and note the people you could give your boxes full of baby clothes to. We've probably done it for you before, so one of the coolest solutions would be to do it yourself.

If you prefer, you can also make
some donations to charities that are close to your heart.

Sort through your boxes beforehand and
keep your favourite pieces. Even if they stay in a drawer, they'll be a memento of a beautiful era that your child will no doubt be delighted to discover when they're older.

Turn baby clothes into accessories for older children

For this first recycling idea, we thought of accessories! Although it's easier to create accessories for girls, there are also several for boys (headbands, belts, scarves, hats,...).If you have a girl, take one of her little flowery cotton dresses and make some pretty headbands for her hair. With a few snips of the scissors and a couple of seams, you'll get great results.

Headbands with bows, turbans, clips, ... She'll look adorable and these accessories won't have cost you a thing!

Make pretty patterned make-up remover wipes

Children's clothes often have pretty fun patterns. This is your chance to pick them up and brighten up your everyday life a little.

You can create pretty make-up remover wipes from soft cotton or terry cloth. They'll feel great on your face and are very eco-friendly!

And to take things a step further,
check out reusable sanitary towels. Another great way to recycle fabrics that are fun and gentle on your skin.

Make a "souvenir" bedspread from your child's clothes

Here's a little extra, a special gift you could give your child later on. A patchwork blanket or cot mat, lovingly made from the prettiest clothes from her childhood.

We recognise that it can quickly get a little kitschy, but use your artistic flair to create something harmonious.

In the end,
it's a gift with a lot of meaning and will be precious to your child, even if it's imperfect. So go for it!

There are so many things you can do with old clothes and bits of fabric. In the same way, you can recycle all your children's clothes.
We've given you a few ideas here but you can imagine that
the possibilities are endless. With a little imagination and a lot of patience, you can recycle entire dressers and even create things for yourself: shopper bags or just bags, customise your jeans, replace your curtains, ...
Be creative!
