There's usually no shortage of T-shirts in our wardrobes. In fact, half of them should be thrown away... Sorry, did you say "thrown away"?
It's true, t-shirts are getting slack, losing their sparkle and sometimes even the big pineapple print on them is completely out of fashion. But the t-shirt is one of those we don't throw away.Firstly because it can still, as a last resort, be used as a window cloth, but above all because with a little imagination, we can transform it and restore it to its number one place in our dressing room.
You've got a few nice T-shirts in good condition but they're lacking a little something?
Now's the time to put everything down and find some inspiration. Your t-shirts deserve a second life!
A bare back, fine embroidery, a textile paint illustration?
Surely you remember those days when we bleached our t-shirts with bleach? Not very eco-friendly today. So why not try a dye with natural pigments?
For example, boil some fruit or vegetables (carrot, berries, beetroot,...) in a large pot and leave your T-shirt to soak to get its new colour. Tea can also be used to add an aged look.
Just like when you go to the hairdresser, pamper your new T-shirt: after the colour comes the cut. Why not consider a short cut and give it a new grungy crop-top look?
Did you know you could transform your old t-shirts into super trendy fashion accessories ?
Braided necklaces, bracelets or headbands. Single or multi-coloured, the choice is yours.
For the most creative among you, we could even imagine huge braided necklaces in tribal colours and add a few wooden stones to perfect the final look.
If you don't feel like wearing your old t-shirts any more, you can easily recycle them into tote bags. Practical and super lightweight, you can use them to get to your yoga class, the Halles market or the botanical gardens!
And if this seemed like child's play to you, take it up a notch and make your first denim or jacquard bag.
You see, there's no limit to creativity...
