If you don't know what to do with your old denim and it's still too cold to turn it into mini shorts, you might be interested in the following!
While denim remains timeless, fashion is cyclical and it's not sparing our jeans. There are countless types of jeans available today, depending on size, curves, style, colour... and frankly, it's easy to get bored of our beloved Trousers.
So if you've ever thought about throwing away one of your pieces, get a grip! There are loads of ways to upcycle your old jeans, and all the while avoiding a lapse in taste!
Cushion, pouch, apron, mat, backpack and even coaster... you can let your imagination and style run wild to create a product that reflects you.
For our part, we suggest a super-simple and trendy transformation: the patchwork jeans.
As the name suggests, all you have to do is sew "patches" of fabric or denim in different colours onto your jeans. And you're all set!
If you don't have any fabric scraps to hand, go and ask at your nearest haberdashery. If they don't give them away, chances are they're offering lots at knock-down prices. Just make sure that the scraps are big enough to form rectangles and that the chosen colour scheme is harmonious. So avoid brocade fabrics that are reminiscent of granny curtains and risk turning your denim into a clown suit.
Also take the time to look after your seams. This will play heavily on the final result and its durability.
If you're not seduced by this idea, you can always wait until this summer to transform your denim into tight-fitting shorts and have one of our Tillists embroider a burger on your left buttock! It'll only cost you £10!
Finally, and because it's way too cute, we couldn't help but show you these adorable denim barrettes! Another way to upcycle your jeans and add a little style to your mane!
