Our tips for creating made-to-measure curtains

Although curtains have a practical role, they are also real decorative objects and can, on their own, announce the style of a room. Hence their importance!

At Tilli, we
retouch your damaged curtains, we customise them and recently, we also offer a made-to-measure service.

Responsible curtains thanks to upcycling

Since the early days of Tilli, we retouch and customise your old curtains to avoid making new waste and over-consumption.

In fact, more often than not, we throw away things that simply need a little sprucing up. A neat
belt, some pretty embroidery or new ties would certainly be enough to restore your curtains to their former glory.

So we use existing materials that we
recycle and transform: this is upcycling.

How do you choose the style of your curtains?

We'll be delighted to help you choose your curtains. A few questions can already give you some food for thought: for what reason(s) do you want to put up curtains? Is it to hide a vis-à-vis, to delimit or enlarge a space, to black out light or quite simply, is it an element of decoration?

In the living room, curtains occupy
an essential role, they protect your privacy! In winter, they add a layer to separate you from the cool windows. And on a day-to-day basis, they dress up your interior, adapting perfectly to your decor and allowing you to express your creative ideas.

We advise you never to overlook the
power of colour, especially when it comes to interior design. If your living room is dark, don't hesitate to install curtains in light shades. On the one hand, they give the impression of a larger window, on the other they can soften the overall mood by reflecting natural light.

Darker colours allow you to add a touch of chic, they contrast with light walls and can make reminders with your sofas and armchairs. The ideal combo for a warm atmosphere and a cocooning effect.

To get started, you can take a trip to the web and leaf through a few
magazines to select images that you find inspiring, from their graphics or styles. This will help you and your Tilliste choose a fabric that perfectly matches your desires!

Do you have any surplus fabric left in your cupboards? As you know, everything can be transformed with your Tilliste. Trained in model making and true artisans, they're full of ideas and can advise you on how to put your scraps to good use.

be transformed into a cushion cover for €23. Have you got less than that left over? You can create a little purse bag from scratch for your jaunts around town for €103. We'll tell you more on our article on creating accessories.
