Come on, we believe it: it's almost the end of winter! Which means it's time to sort out your wardrobes and get out your chunky jumpers to transform them into more delicate cardigans for the balmy evenings of spring. Our Tillists have concocted a few ideas especially for you to transform your old jumpers into sexier, trendier pieces.
Among our Tillistes, some are knitwear specialists and will know how to both help you reclaim your old sweaters and provide you with solutions to create and imagine the perfect cardigan.
Our first suggestion is very simple, but it will make all the difference. It consists of making an opening on one side of your jumper, from the top of the neckline to the bottom, to create the opening for the cardigan. Skin-on, or with a little lace top: this side opening will let you reveal just enough.
We can also modify the neckline of your jumper by hollowing out the neckline to create a V-neck or rounded neckline, this will clear your neck. This modification will also feminise your cardigan.
We can also imagine a transformation to the sleeves. You're missing the cool little ¾ sleeve cardigan, no problem! Our Tilliste will shorten your long sleeves and create a pretty finish to finish the bottom of your new sleeves.
For a 'couture' look, we can also suggest adding some pretty buttons. Snatched from granny's vintage jumper, found at flea markets or unearthed at the local haberdashery, buttons are a great way to personalise your waistcoat and give it that little "je ne sais quoi" that's both chic and trendy!
And if you don't have any at home: our partner Swarovski Professionnels offers you magnificent pearls and stones to sew on for all your TILLI creations! Discover all our inspirations.
What could be more elegant than a back sublimated by a garment? This opening in the back will completely change the style of your jumper and create a style that's both more fashionable and sexy.
Would you like a short waistcoat that comes to your waist? We can also modify the length of your waistcoat. Simply cut the bottom of your waistcoat and remove the part that's too long. This little top will go perfectly with your high-waisted Levi's!
