Your floral dress is still a staple in your wardrobe, you love it... But you've worn it for so many occasions that it has a taste of "déjà (TOO) vu"? We've got the solution to give it a facelift without spending a penny.
Twister, relooking old clothes is our speciality! Make an appointment with one of our Tillists at your home to determine together the spirit of the skirt you want to make. A short skirt? Mini or midi-length? This will depend on the initial length of your dress.
If you opt for a mini skirt, here we go! The transformation will consist of cutting off the top of your dress to keep only the bottom. High waist? Low waist? Depending on the style you choose, both are possible.
The little trick: with the top of the dress your Tilliste will be able to create a belt to give a pretty finish to the waistline of your skirt.
The next step is to determine the location of the skirt fastening. There are several possible solutions. Either your skirt will open in the back or on the side. Small buttons or zip? The choice is yours.
You can also customise your skirt by adding gold or brightly coloured buttons for summer! And if you don't have any at home: our partner Swarovski Professionnels offers you magnificent pearls and stones to sew on for all your TILLI creations! <Discover all our inspirations.
The transformation is almost complete, your seamstress will need to make a small hem on the bottom of your skirt and you're done!
As we're not short of ideas here at Tilli, here are a few ideas for transforming your maxi dress into a maxi skirt.
First of all, as with the short skirt, your Tillist can create a belt using fabric scraps from the top of your dress. This will give a beautiful finish to the top of your skirt. And to add a little original twist, why not create an opening down the middle front and bring in little buttons all the way down, very trendy. The slit front option is also an option for a slightly sexier twist ladies!
Finally, your long skirt can be opened either in the middle back or on the side, using small buttons, or a zip.
Our expertise in upcycling will help you find solutions to renew your wardrobe and transform the pieces that are dear to you (or your old clothes) by giving them a second life.
