Even though we tend to get overweight as we get older, sometimes we need to shrink our Trousers.
It may be that, over time, they've loosened up or that our diet has worked so well that our favourite Trousers have become too big!
So before you throw them away, you should try out some of the tips below. With a bit of luck (and hard work), you might just get your Trousers back!
If your Trousers are cotton, you can boil them! And yes, it's time to put them through their paces.
To do this, bring a pot of water to the boil. Turn off the heat and dip your Trousers in the hot water. Leave them on for about 5 minutes. Be careful, the longer you leave it, the more it will shrink so start slowly! Then wring out your Trousers and leave them to air dry.
PS: watch out for any patterns that may melt under the effect of heat. Do a few tests beforehand.
Here's a simple tip for your jeans: Machine + tumble dryer, this is the explosive cocktail that could save your jeans.
Choose a strong programme to break up the fibres of your jeans and allow them to shrink.
Then leave it for a good cycle in the tumble dryer. It'll come out all warm and... shrunk!
For the bravest among you, the must-have of course is sewing.
This will allow you to readjust the size of your Trousers and do so without taking any risks.
<The result will be perfect.
To do this, you're going to need to go over your entire Trousers. Put them on inside out and mark all the seams at your waist with pins.
Yes, there's some work involved!
