Your new jersey has only been in use for a week and now it's already starting to show signs of wear.
Torn or damaged swimming costume?
Find out how to take care of your swimming costume and repair it every time!
One of the first things you need to do to look after your swimming costume is not to mix pool and sea swimsuits. And yes, you've been told this throughout your childhood and it's true! So keep your swimwear for one use only.
In addition, you should know that it's essential to always rinse your swimming costume in cold water after use. Don't throw it in a ball in the sink or on a drying rack.
Because of this, make sure there are no knots still tied. If there are, untie them so your swimming costume can dry freely and properly.
You'll always wash your jersey by hand, in cold water and with a mild soap.Warm water would have the action of relaxing the fibres and therefore gradually stretching your jersey!
Finally, you leave your swimming costume to dry flat and in the shade, to prevent the sun from fading the colour.
Has a shell scratched your beautiful swimming costume?
You have several options: if the tear is minimal, you can try to sew it by hand, using a very fine needle and polyester thread. You will sew on the reverse side.
In the case of a larger tear, you can use a patch of fabric in the same colour as your jersey that you will sew or iron-on (depending on the material of course!) to the reverse of your jersey.
In the case of sewing, which is most likely, you'll always use a fine needle, polyester thread for your needle, foam thread for your bobbin and a zigzag or stretch stitch for the seam!
