There are so many different curtains to choose from that it can be hard to find your way around.
In this article, we'll suggest three ways to hang your curtains, with tabs, eyelets or knots!
While the first criterion when choosing a curtain is the fabric, the attachment system comes in second place. In fact, depending on the attachment chosen, your curtain will not fall in the same way.
Furthermore, you should know that in the curtain family, there are also hangings and veiling. Although we confuse them most of the time, they each play a very different role.
The curtain likes to play with the light and helps with temperature control in the room. The curtain, meanwhile, occupies more of a decorative role, although it can also play with light thanks to blackout fabrics. Finally, veiling plays the transparency card and confines itself to its purely decorative role.
To begin with, determine the role of your curtain and choose the fabric accordingly.
Tab curtains are relatively easy to make and that's why we often find them hanging in our windows.
To make the tabs, all you need to do is cut two large strips of fabric to the length of your curtain as well as several small rectangles of your choice of dimensions, which will make up the tabs. Rectangles can be 25cm wide and 10cm high, for example.
Fold the flaps in half widthways and sew right sides together.
Then place the flaps between the strips of fabric, at equal distances apart, and sew them to the curtain.

The grommets allow the curtain to slide smoothly over the rod.So check that the diameter of your grommets is larger than the diameter of your rod!
To begin, you will hem the top of your curtain (its height will depend on the measurements of your eyelets).
You will then place your eyelets on this hem, about 15 cm apart and come draw the inside diameter of the eyelets with chalk.
All that's left for you to do is cut these rounds with a chisel and come clip the eyelets over the top.
Pretty easy, isn't it?
The knots are sewn a bit like the tabs. So you'll start in the same way, by cutting two large strips of fabric the length of your curtain and several rectangles that will later become the knots.
Each knot will be folded in half and sewn between the two strips of fabric.
All that's left to do is make pretty bows to hang your curtain on your rod!
