Repairing a vintage Burberry jacket with stoppage
Some pieces of our wardrobe are made to last. A fine wool coat, a well-cut gabardine trench coat, a cashmere sweater... These quality garments, when well cared for, can accompany us for decades. And when they've belonged to a loved one, their value becomes priceless. A coat handed down by a relative, a jacket worn on a special occasion, a garment imbued with memories: we keep them not just for their style, but for what they represent. So, despite all the care we take with them, they're not immune to a snag or a hole. Fortunately, to avoid further damage, there are repair solutions that can preserve these garments without altering their appearance. These include a rare and highly precise technique: invisible stoppage. Our craftsmen suggested this method to Isabelle, a customer who came to us with a Burberry jacket that belonged to her mother. Unfortunately, one of the sleeves had a hole in it. Rather than opt for a conventional repair, she wanted a perfect, undetectable result.
