An upcycled denim mini skirt

There's a super-simple solution to making a mini skirt from old denim. And somewhere along the line, the shorter it is, the easier it will be.

To do this, you'll start by cutting off the trousers legs, about 5cm from the crotch. You'll then seam the crotch to the base of the fly, front and back, and
align the legs with pins before sewing them back together.

Next, you'll need to trim the excess fabric. You'll then draw a straight line with chalk, taking care to round the outer edges slightly, then cut away the excess.

The final step is to prepare and sew the hem.

And you're done!
Easy, isn't it?

A patchwork skirt from your old Trousers

If you want a longer skirt and a more original cut, you'll need to add fabric pieces.

In the same way, you'll start by cutting the legs of your trousers and then unstitching the crotch seams. Then it will be up to you to
compose your skirt with the different trouser fabric(s) you have.

You'll be able to play with the length.

You're the designer here, mix materials, colors and fashion a made-to-measure skirt that really looks like you.

As you'll have realised, you can work with any material and even add the fabric of a t-shirt if it lends itself well to the overall harmony you're expecting.
Besides, it's not just trousers that can be transformed into skirts, there are blouses too! And yes, you can also create beautiful skirts from your old blouses.
