Too-tight trousers are a real nuisance!
Not only can you no longer breathe, but the elastic also makes your curves stand out, revealing little bulges above your waist. Help!
Here are a few tips on how to loosen your elastic and get back into comfortable clothing.
Your pajama trousers are too tight and it's almost keeping you awake.
To great evils, great remedies!
To loosen the elastic, there's a simple technique, which may well have its roots in our grandmothers' household.
It involves stretching the elastic of your trousers to the maximum for several minutes. To do this, you can, for example, use a coat hanger, inserting it at the waist of your trousers, or use the top of a chair to stretch the elastic to the maximum.
You can leave your pyjamas stretched in this way for 24 hours.
Another technique for enlarging a rubber band is to heat it with an iron.
To stretch the elastic as much as possible, you can pin your garment to your ironing board or slide it around the board.
Put your iron on maximum power and wet a fabric with water without soaking it completely.
You'll iron the elastic of your garment in this way, taking care to lay the wet fabric on top. For 5 to 10 minutes, alternate 10 seconds of ironing and 10 seconds of rest.
With the heat, the elastic should expand.
In the event that the elastic is really too tight, you should know that you can simply change it. It will hardly take you any time at all.
To do this, you'll need to make a small cut on the back of your Trousers, right where your elastic goes. You'll then take out the elastic in its entirety and replace it with a longer elastic that you'll insert with a safety pin.
