If you're used to reading us, you probably know that at Tilli's, we love fringes, whatever they are! So we couldn't not devote an entire article to them.
Today, let's pay homage to fringes and learn how to fashion them on our denims in the most authentic to the most original way.
If you want to make beautiful bangs on the bottom of your trousers, you'll need to cut the hem. Measure beforehand where you want the bangs to start so you don't cut your jeans too short.
Then, using a seam ripper, cut the side seam of your jeans to the desired height.
Finally, using a needle or tweezers, you'll effiloate the bottom of your trousers by removing the white threads that make up the weft one by one.
Here, patience will be the watchword.
You'll continue until you get the fringe length you want!
If you like your jeans to have ultra-customized hems, check out our article on the subject. You'll love it!
For the bangs on the legs, you'll need to make holes, if there aren't any already!
Rather than a neat hole cut with a scissor, make a thin cut and then arrange to crack the fabric. The result will then be more authentic.
Then, in the manner suggested above, you'll fetch the threads using your tweezers or a needle.
Pretty quick and super stylish!
For the sake of style, we wanted to show you that you can also think outside the box and come up with original fringes.
They'll require more work but they'll bring a unique style to your denim.
This is the case, for example, with famous sequin fringes from Balmain.
Now imagine beaded fringes and fringes in completely crazy fabrics: sheer, leather, fur, wool...
The possibilities are infinite!
If you're tempted, you should have a word with one of our Tillistes. Their imagination is overflowing and their talent is up to scratch! They're sure to be able to wow you with a mind-blowing idea.
