Sometimes ripped jeans are pretty cool, but not all the time... in which case we consider the worst: throwing them away. But don't worry, you don't have to! There are lots of ways to repair jeans, and you can transform them in so many ways.
If you know how to do it yourself, we'll give you a few tips below. Let's get to work!

Renforcement des parties usées
Reinforcement
The crotch is one of the parts of the jeans that wears out most quickly. The solution is reinforcement to hold it in place and prevent it from pulling on the fabric around it and refragging it again. Once this has been done, the result is almost invisible, or it will become so as you wear your jeans. This technique involves piecing a piece of fabric on the back of the jeans and sewing on the outside. With a sewing machine, the reinforcement is even more effective. You'll need a special denim needle, as denim is a thick material that not all needles can penetrate. On the outside, sew in a zigzag stitch with a thread of a similar colour.

Redoing the denim weave
This is the noblest technique, and one in which know-how is invaluable. It can be done by hand or with a sewing machine. The principle is to restore the damaged area and sew the same type of weave. As with reinforcement, the sewist adds fabric to the reverse side. You can anticipate this and reinforce a fragile part to prevent it from tearing. Example of our Tilliste Gaël in the photos above, made with a sewing machine.

Fabric yoke
Don't have a patch? Or if you want something more discreet, filling the hole with fabric is a good way to repair your jeans. This can be done with a different fabric or with jeans of the same color.
Making the yoke inside the jeans prevents the rip / tear from spreading. It can also be for purely aesthetic reasons. Make sure there are no protruding threads and that the fabric completely covers the rip / tear plus 2 cm.

Sew back on
To sew, the rip / tear must be long and not very wide. Otherwise, refer to the other procedures.
1/ As with the other techniques, cut the threads in the damaged area and iron.
2/ Loop the thread under the fabric and stitch from front to back, following a regular, fairly tight gap.
Ajouter un patch sur vos jeans
Add a patch
Finally, the patch ;)
This is the simplest but most visible solution. There are two types of patch: sew-on and iron-on. First and foremost, make sure the patch covers the entire rip / tear and extends 1 cm beyond it.
1/ Cut off excess threads and iron the area to be repaired.
2/ Pin the Patch over the area to be covered.
3/ Start sewing from the inside of the jeans, respecting the edges of the Patch.
4/ Use short stitches all along, looping from side to side.
5/ Once you've sewn all the way around, you can loop your needle inside the jeans and tie a knot - you're done!

L'entrejambe est la partie qui s'use le plus facilement, mes clients ont toujours l'impression que cela va être très voyant une fois réparé, mais ils sont toujours agréablement surpris en voyant que c'est invisible.
